A huge thank you to our generous Sonning CC community, and also to the visiting Cove cricket team, for supporting our group of U15 and U16 Young Leaders in Cricket fundraising BBQ, held on Saturday 5 June – your fantastic support helped to raise £288.83.
This fundraising is part of our Cricket Leaders’ Young Leaders in Cricket Programme (YLiC) aimed at giving 14 to 16 year olds the leadership and life skills, through a composite set of training modules, the self-confidence to volunteer in their club, school, or community. The fundraising module helps to create awareness for the Young Leader of the importance of financial sustainability for community sports clubs and charitable programmes.
A proportion of the funds raised on the evening, helps to support the sustainability of the YLiC by making it self-funding for future generations, with the Young Leaders encouraged to raise any additional funds in support of the YLiC chosen charities, including the Ruth Strauss Foundation and The Ben Daniels Memorial Fund in association with Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).
A hugely successful first fundraising effort and display of teamwork from our Sonning CC Young Leaders in Cricket participants. Well done and thank you to all involved!
