Sonning's Gary Phillips has not given up hope of winning the Premier Division title despite Saturday's loss to Purley.
Purley replaced Sonning at the top after winning the crucial promotion battle by 86 runs.
But skipper Phillips declared: "There's still only 15 points in it and with four games left anything can happen.
"We certainly haven't given up hope and we'll be pushing Purley all the way."
It was a game of two halves as far as Sonning were concerned having seemingly done the hard work by dismissing Purley for 171.
Dangerman Depak Singh topscored with 60 but the Sonning bowlers worked hard to stem the flow of runs and keep the score down to reachable target.
But the Sonning batsmen failed to deliver and were skittled out for a meagre 85 runs in reply with left-arm spinner Magnan Manag claiming 4-12.
"He bowled brilliantly," conceded Phillips. "But I have to say that 171 was comfortably in our range and our batting was abysmal."
However, he also added: "There was a lot of barracking from the sidelines at Purley which most clubs have experienced.
"Their supporters have a lot to say and the team makes a big appeal every time a ball hits the pads. It puts the umpires under a lot of pressure and I don't think it's necessary.
"We asked the league for neutral umpires but they failed to deal with the request.
"I'm not saying Purley stepped over the line but it can be a hostile place to go."
Sonning aim to bounce back at home to Yateley this Saturday while Purley are away to Berkshire County Sports.
