Cameron’s a big hit for Sonning
Australian import Cameron Gannon made a stunning impact as Sonning began life in the Thames Valley League with a 42-run win over Maidenhead & Bray 2nd in Division 4A.
Gannon is a Queensland and Australia under-19 opening bowler – but he made his mark with the bat as he blasted a brilliant 150no in Sonning’s total of 269-4.
He received solid support from Pete Whitmore (30) and J Harris (23) as Sonning made an impressive start after moving up from the Berkshire League.
Ghulam Abbas, who has been a prolific wicket-taker in the Berkshire League for many seasons, showed he can shine in the TV League as well.
The Pakistani pace ace took 5-78 as Maids were bowled out for 227.
