CROWN Wood moved to within touching distance of the Division One crown with a crushing 52-run success against second-placed Sonning 2nds.
With three weeks of the season still remaining, Wood can wrap up the title with victory against nearest challengers Woodcote this weekend.
Matt Hammond (74), Raz Rubbani (50) and 16-year-old Daniel Cartledge (40no) helped Wood amass 229 in their innings. S Aslam (5-70) was the pick of the Sonning attack and he also led their batting reply with a brilliant 99.
However, he received little support from his colleagues and Sonning eventually finished well short of their target on 177. Jack Sever led the Wood attack with 4-24 as Sonning slipped to third spot.
